Report on the Business Studies Workshop on ‘Innovation in Teaching.’

Workshop on Business studies-Innovation in Teaching’ was conducted by Commerce Teachers’ Foundation at Cambridge School, Sriniwaspuri on 23rd July 2022.
Resource persons for the session were Ms. Saudamini, Ms. Meena, Mr. Sameer Bhatia, and Ms. Shivani. It was attended by Ms. Preeti Sharma. The workshop aimed at how to increase excellence in teaching Business studies. Two sessions were held, In the first session, innovative ideas like roleplays, quizzes, and using of online resources were discussed. In the second session, teachers were guided on how to make various types of questions based on Bloom’s Taxonomy. Activity on how newspapers can be used to link and discuss various chapters of business studies was taken up. Both the sessions were engaging and informative.

Science Dialogue Workshop

A science dialogue workshop was organized by Amar Ujala on Friday, July 22, 2022, in the ABES Engineering College Padma Shree Professor Harish Chandra Verma (HC Verma), former Head of the Department of Physics of IIT Kanpur was the keynote speaker at the event. Teachers and students from across Delhi NCR attended the event.

Prof. Verma discussed simple and interesting ways to teach physics. He stressed experiential and experimental learning. He apprised the audience about NAEST (National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test) which is an annual competition that assesses and nurtures keen observational skills, analytical skills, and experimental skills of a student in physics. He shared anecdotes from his life explaining the importance of knowledge over marks secured in examinations. At the end of the session, he interacted with teachers and students and addressed their queries. 

A Report on the Eklavya Workshop for Science Teachers

A five days teacher training workshop was conducted by Eklavya Team from 17 May to 21 May 2022, Jatkhedi, Bhopal for the teachers teaching classes 3 to 8. It was organized by Educational Resource Centre, SAE. Around 50 teachers from all the branches of Cambridge Schools attended the workshop.
The resource person Ms. Uma Sudhir and Ms. Seema covered various topics like Light, Separation, Physical and Chemical changes, Rotation and Revolution, Plants, Measurement etc through the hands on experience methodology in science teaching. Many innovative techniques and skills of teaching science were demonstrated and practiced by the teachers.
It was an enriching workshop that cleared many misconceptions and doubts related to the subject.

A Report on the session on ‘Prevention of Breast Cancer’

An Online  Session on ‘Prevention of Breast Cancer in women’  was conducted by Dr. Ramesh Dawar, Vice President Dharamshila Cancer Foundation and Research Centre on Friday May 13,2022 from 12:50pm to 2:05pm.

It was an enriching talk  in which she discussed about- Benign  vs Malignant cancer, which depicted the cancer burden in India by means of illustrations the non modifiable and modifiable causes of breast cancer and the common predisposing factors.

Dr. Dawar also clarified the myth that not all breast lumps are cancer. The self-detection procedure showed was very useful.

On the whole, it was a very informative and meaningful session.
