All India Rank 25 in Civil Services Examination (UPSC), Ritika Verma, visits her Alma Mater – Cambridge School, Noida

May 2, 2024: Cambridge School, Noida, celebrated the remarkable achievement of Ms. Ritika Verma, a distinguished alumna from the 2016-17 batch, who has secured the 25th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, by felicitating her.

Ritika, a science student, scored 95.40% in Class XII and went on to pursue B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She shared her experiences with the students, stating that luck only favours the brave and it indeed took her a lot of hard work and focus to clear the UPSC. She had to sacrifice her social life and stayed away from social media while she was preparing for the revered examination. There were times of despair but what worked was to have a Plan B and understand that her preparations won’t go to waste if she didn’t clear UPSC. Infact it will help her to build her personality and qualify for other fields in life. She mentioned that unwavering support from her parents, helped her to stay mentally strong and positive. She engaged in a Question & Answer session where she was met with the curiosity of students who wanted to understand how many hours she had put into preparation, what was her strategy, and how she coped with stress. She answered all their questions and assured that she would offer more guidance when the students were ready to take the examination.

Mr. Vikram Roy, President, Society for the Advancement of Education, applauded Ritika’s achievements and encouraged the students to be themselves, follow the path of their choice and not get drifted by the pressure caused by peers or society. Ms. Preeti Sirohi, Officiating Principal, spoke of Ritika as a sincere and disciplined child, who is still fondly remembered by her teachers. She mentioned how she didn’t lose sight of her dreams despite not clearing UPSC in the first three attempts. Ms. Sirohi encouraged all the students in attendance to keep Ritika’s journey in mind whenever they face challenges. She wished Ritika all the best for her future and told her that she has made the school very proud of her achievements.
