European Union Goes to School

February 7, 2024: The delegation of the European Union to India visited Cambridge School, Noida to recognize and appreciate the art installation prepared by students to celebrate sustainability and commitment towards a cleaner future. Cambridge School Noida is one of the seven schools chosen across Delhi NCR for the project ‘EU goes to School’ in collaboration with European Union and supported by Delhi Street Art.

The project is an artistic representation of a whale that has ingested microplastics from the polluted ocean and as a result, has been washed ashore. This installation, made by students, is crafted with eco-bricks*, scrap metal, wood, and cloth.

* Ecobricks are plastic drinking bottles packed with non-biodegradable waste to make a reusable building block.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY 

MALALA DAY- VIII C

A special assembly was organized by Class VIII-C on 2 August 2023 on Malala Day. A brief introduction on the importance of education and equal rights was followed by a soulful prayer, thought of the day and news. The school choir performed a melodious song on the need for education in society followed by a skit on the life and works of Malala Yousufzai. To further enliven the atmosphere students presented a beautiful classical dance on the theme of gender empowerment. The assembly concluded with a speech by the Officiating Principal Ms. Preeti Sirohi who discussed how every citizen can contribute towards building a just society by promoting education and equal rights for all.

 

WORLD BIO-FUEL DAY- VIII E

 A special assembly was organized by Class VIII-E on 9 August 2023 on World Bio-Fuel Day. A brief introduction to non-conventional source of energy and their invention. The students stressed the importance of Biofuel. To further enliven the atmosphere, students presented a classical dance- Kathak on the theme of environment. Then a skit was presented by the students on the need of bio fuel followed by a melodious song presented by the school choir.

The assembly concluded with a speech by the Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi who discussed how every citizen can contribute towards building a pollution-free world.

 

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER- VIII F

On 21 August 2023, a special assembly on the theme of Knowledge is power; was conducted by the students of class VIII F. Through enchanting musical performance, dance and powerful speeches, students enlightened the audience about the power of knowledge. The assembly culminated with a beautiful skit based on the theme.

 

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY- VII F

Class VII F conducted a special assembly on National Sports Day on 23 August 2023. The assembly focused on the spirit of sports and its teaching with an emphasis on Major Dhyan Chand. The assembly was celebrated through a dance performance on Chak de India, a musical representation of different sports played in India and a choir singing the song Courage to Change alongside quotes, news and information about the day. The assembly culminated with closing remarks of the Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi, emphasizing the need for sports and praising the students for their efforts.

 

RAKSHABANDHAN- IX E

On 29 August 2023, a special assembly on Raksha Bandhan was conducted by class IX-E. The assembly was attended by the class teachers and students of all the sections of class IX, coordinators of IX and X, and Mr. Gunjan. The major highlight of the assembly was a skit and dance reflecting the bond between a sister and a brother.

 

BOOK EXHIBITION

A book exhibition on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day was organized for the students and staff members from 14- 16 August 2023 in the school library. The theme of the exhibition was – Freedom Fighters.

 

LIBRARY ACTIVITY

To inculcate reading habits and strengthen writing skills, Librarian Mr. Milind Kumar Gautam, organised Library activities for the students of class VI-VIII. Various activities like a Quiz on Harry Potter, a Puzzle on famous British Authors and a character sketch of a favourite character took place from 10 August to 22 August 2023 during library periods. Students took great interest in all the activities and requested to have more such fun activities in future.

 

EDUFAIR

The Psychology Department of Cambridge, Noida organized Edufair- An Annual event of career counselling and university fair on 18 August 2023. The event was attended by students of classes IX to XII. Students and teachers from Cambridge’s sister schools also participated. Renowned Career Counselor, Mr Jitin Chawla addressed the students in two informative sessions—one for Classes IX and X, and another for all sections of classes XI-XII.

Students of all classes and schools got the opportunity to visit and interact with an array of booths and stalls set up by some renowned National and International universities like Pearl Academy, IIHM, O.P Jindal Global, Ashoka, University of London, to name a few. Students participated in the Edufair with keen interest.

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Cambridge School, Noida celebrated the 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023. The program started with the flag hoisting by Ms. Preeti Sirohi, The Officiating Principal; Ms.Richa Badola, Headmistress and other guests. The ceremony was followed by the school band playing patriotic tunes which instilled a feeling of patriotism amongst the audience. A cultural program was put up by the students where they showcased and depicted their patriotism for the country through dance, music, poem recitation and enactment. The program concluded with the closing remarks by Ms. Preeti Sirohi, wherein she shared her belief that patriotism is a small act which should be a part of our daily life

 

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

On 4 August 2023, Cambridge School, Noida hosted an investiture ceremony to felicitate the newly elected student council. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, AVSM, VSM, Director General of Naval Operations and the Director General of Project Seabird, Indian Navy.

The newly elected members were bestowed upon with their prefectural badges by the Chief Guest, as they stepped into leadership roles. Ms. Preeti Sirohi, the Officiating Principal, congratulated the student council and reminded them that with responsibility comes accountability and that they must lead by personal example.

It was followed by the Chief Guest’s address, inspiring the students to develop character and ethical leadership values.

Mr. Vikram Roy, President, of SAE, encouraged the students to be passionate about their choices for making a difference. He also added that excellence can never be a choice but a chance to determine their destiny.

 

ASSET EXAMINATION

ASSET Stands for Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing. It is Asia’s largest skill-based diagnostic and benchmarking test. Rather than testing rote learning, it uses multiple-choice questions to focus on measuring how well SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying the school syllabus have been understood by the student. ASSET Exam was conducted for the students of classes III-VIII from 1 –3 August 2023.

CSN MUN

The tenth edition of CSNMUN 23-24 was held on July 27 and 28, 2023 at Cambridge School, Noida. 300 delegates from sixteen schools across Delhi-NCR actively participated in the conference spread over two days. Keeping in mind the current global concerns, students participated in six committees with riveting agendas such as – Deliberation on the Political Instability and Arms Conflict within the Horn of Africa for the United Nations General Assembly, Oversight on Civil Unrest after The Global Energy Crisis with Special Emphasis on the increasing violence within Haiti for United Nations Security Council, Addressing the Human Rights concerns in Asian countries with emphasis on Child Labour and Human Trafficking of Indigenous people for United Nations Human Rights Council etc. It was an enriching and successful event.

THEATRE IN EDUCATION

Theatre in Education was held on July 25, 2023, at Cambridge School, Noida. The topic was ‘The Indian Constitution’. The programme was organised by the students of class VIII. The theatre aimed at highlighting the process, the need and the journey of making the Constitution. The Theatre involved speeches of eminent personalities like Dr BR Ambedkar, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Hasna Mehta and others. It also highlighted the plights of different sections of society and how their needs were met by the Constitution.

The theatre highlighted the Fundamental Rights through the Republic Day parade and therefore also stressed how far India has come. A beautiful dance performance was presented depicting various scenarios that challenged the Indian Union and how the constitution helped to get through. The Preamble was presented through a soulful choir performance.

 

SCHOLAR FELICITATION CEREMONY OF CLASS X (SESSION 2022-2023)

To unveil the journey of unparalleled resilience and academic achievements of the scholars, the Scholar Felicitation Ceremony for Class X was organised on July 21, 2023, in Cambridge School, Noida. The students who scored 100 % in one or two subjects as well as 91% and above in boards were awarded with the scholar certificate. The ceremony started with the school prayer and a motivational song by the school choir.

ENVIROFEST

The annual plantation drive is organized every year in July. This year Cambridge School, Noida celebrated the Annual Envirofest on July 18, 2023, with great enthusiasm. A lot of activities on the theme ‘Environment’ were conducted. The celebration started with the plantation drive followed by inter-section activities like animal mask-making, T–shirt painting etc.,

Students showed a lot of vim and vigour. Various perennial flowering plants such as China rose (Hibiscus), Oleander, Thecoma, Rose, Jasmine, Frangipani(Champa), Indian elm(papri), Jamun, Bamboo, etc were planted. The other activities conducted aimed to spread awareness as well as to inculcate the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in our lives to attain a sustainable future. 

FELICITATION CEREMONY 

On July 11, 2023, Cambridge School Noida held a felicitation ceremony for the school CBSE Board toppers of Class XII, in the Roma Deb Auditorium to celebrate the achievements and milestones reached by the students. The ceremony was attended by students of classes XI and XII and the parents of the felicitated students. The meritorious achievers were appreciated and applauded, by the compere Ms. Bharti Sharma. This was followed by the auspicious Lighting of the Lamp. The choir presented the school song in their mellifluous voices. All the toppers were acknowledged with merit certificates and mementoes by the Director Mr. Vikram Roy, Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi and Mr. Sushil Kabra.

Following this, the Professor, Dr.Suman Kapur memorial awards were presented to the achievers as a tribute to Dr.Kapur’s remarkable leadership and intellectual prowess. Dr. Suman Kapur, a distinguished Cambridge School, Srinivas Puri alumna, was a prominent figure in the realm of science. Alongside Dr. Vikram Roy and Dr. Suman Kapur’s brother, Mr. Sushil Kabra distributed the monetary prizes and letters of appreciation to the exemplary students from both Cambridge Noida and Cambridge Srinivas Puri. The students who were honoured were as follows: Arjun Sammi with 99.2%. The stream toppers were Arjun Sammi for Science (99.2%), Swati Madhu Sudanan for Humanities (97%), and Mahika Nautiyal for Commerce (96.6%). There was a total of 10 students with a perfect 100 score and the average percentage of the school was 82.6%. There were an overall of 652 distinctions.

G-20 POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

Cambridge School, Noida participated in the G-20 Poster Making Competition on May 12, 2023. Students from classes VI- VIII were selected. Approximately 80 students took part in this competition. The competition was coordinated by Mr. Bappi Singha and was assisted by Ms. Prachi Sahasrabudhe. The event focussed on two important goals of G-20, India 2023. They are- i) Green Development, Climate Finance and Life ii) Women-led Development. It was an exposure for the young creative minds. The children were enthusiastic.

RABINDRA JAYANTI

On May 9, 2023, Cambridge School, Noida celebrated Rabindra Jayanti to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Kabiguru, Rabindranath Tagore. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Officiating Principal Ms. Preeti Sirohi, Headmistress Ms. Richa Badola and teachers amidst the chanting of the hymn ‘Sangachhadyam’. This was followed by a brief insight into the life of Tagore as a poet, musician, philosopher, and social reformer. Next, the audience was treated to an enchanting dance performance of the popular song “Anondo Loke,” followed by a plethora of dances, recitations, enactments of poems from the Gitanjali, as well as melodious renditions of Tagore’s songs by the students. Last but not the least the students of Primary school mesmerised the audience with a melodious song.

SPIC MACAY

Cambridge School, Noida, under the aegis of SPICMACAY, hosted a repertoire of Indian Classical Music by the renowned sitar maestro Pandit Shubhendra Rao, on April 25, 2023, in the Roma Deb Auditorium.  Pandit Shubhendra Rao is a composer and sitar player, ranked amongst the top soloists of India, whose music is “an experience that is not aimed to titillate the senses, but to seize the soul”.

Pandit Shubhendra Rao was accompanied by the renowned percussionist, tabla maestro Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra one of the top-ranking exponents of tabla in India currently.

During the performance, Pandit Shubhendra Rao brought to the fore the depth and beauty of his renditions through his enchanting and dextrous command of his musical instrument the sitar.  His unique style of being able to connect and build rapport with the audience made the invigorating session a grand success.

SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY

A scholar badge ceremony was organized by Cambridge School, Noida on April 28, 2023, for classes VII to IX in the school auditorium to encourage and appreciate academic endeavours by the students.

The power-packed session commenced with an assembly conducted by the students of class VIII to X. The achievers were applauded and cheered by everyone present in the ceremony. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi congratulated the scholar badge winners and motivated the children to perform their best in the upcoming sessions.

All staff members encouraged and motivated the students to learn and deliver better.

 

INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

Cambridge School Noida celebrated International Dance Day on April 28, 2023. The celebration began with a Ganesh Vandana followed by folk dances from different parts of India. It was indeed a visual treat for the audience to watch our graceful dancers showcasing classical and folk dances of India and enlightened them about our rich cultural heritage from the shores of the Arabian Sea in the west to the shores of the Bay of Bengal in the east and the serene vales of Assam. Children took great delight in expressing themselves in dances like Bihu, Koli etc. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi and Headmistress, Ms. Richa encouraged the performers with their presence. The programme came to an end with a message that dance is the expression of our mind, heart and soul and can be celebrated every day.

 LIBRARY ACTIVITY

Mr. Milind, the school Librarian, organised an activity known as “Know your Library” for the new batch of class VI students throughout the week between April 2226, students were informed about the library rules and different genres of books in the school library. Mr. Milind was also informed about the classics and braille books available in the school library.

 

SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES

WORLD HERITAGE DAY

A special assembly was organised by Class IX B on April 18, 2023, on World Heritage Day. A brief introduction to various aspects of heritage was followed by a soulful prayer, the thought of the day and the news. The choir students performed a melodious song. Students presented a documentary on the importance of preserving the world and national heritage which was accompanied by kathak dance form. The students also performed a skit showing the potential threats to heritage and ways to protect it. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi not only appreciated the students for their efforts but also encouraged them.

EID -UL- FITR

A special assembly was held by class VIII A on April 21, 2023 on Eid-ul-Fitr. The assembly commenced with school prayer to invoke the blessings of the almighty followed by a melodious choir presentation. This was followed by the thought for the day and the news. The children recited a soulful poem and performed a skit. To further enliven the atmosphere children presented a beautiful classical dance. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

 

WORLD DAY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK 

A special assembly was organised by the students of class IX F on the topic of World Day for Health and Safety at Work. A brief introduction on the importance of this day was followed by the school prayer, the thought for the day and news. The children recited a poem on understanding the value of good health in their lives. Students also presented some facts related to World Health Day. They further sensitized the audience on the safety measures to be followed during natural disasters through a skit. This was followed by a tuneful song ‘Heal the World’. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi appreciated the students for their tireless efforts. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

CLASS:6 TO 8

Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th January to commemorate the date and moment, when the constitution of INDIA came into effect. With the same cause it is celebrated as the national festival in our school. A day earlier our school organised a virtual republic day celebration. Lots of activities were organised for classes 6 to 8 for different subjects. In Hindi subject we have organised Kavita vaachan activity for students. Even in this pandemic situation we have seen a lot of enthusiasm and patriotism by students. They all had giving best out of them. Quite impress by their poem and the way they were excited for the activities. Students were seemed proud to be an Indian.

IMAGE 2021

IMAGE – Le mélange de, was held on 25th, 27th and 28th January, at Cambridge School, Noida. The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Honorable Chief Guest, Padma Shri, Ms. Sooni Taraporevala, Screenwriter, Photographer and Film Maker. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, Society for Advancement of Education along with other members of the school management committee were present on this occasion.

33 schools of Delhi, NRC and neighboring cities participated enthusiastically in this event. Various events like A.C. Deb Debate, Shloka Chanting, Hindi Declamation, Story Toons, Create Your Vlog, Ekallap, RJ Star, Art, Dance and Music competitions were the highlights of this event. The Rolling Trophy for IMAGE 2021 was bagged by Somerville School, Noida.

ANNUAL DAY (VI-VIII)

Honoring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, Cambridge School, Noida organised Annual Day along with Prize Distribution Ceremony for session 2021-22 with great zeal and on 30th December,2022 for the students of classes VI- VIII. The occasion was graced by the presence of the hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr.Balram Bhargava, Secretary, Department of Health Research and Director General ICMR. In addition, many dignitaries and the distinguished members of the management committee also graced the event.

The programme was commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp amidst a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the school song by the students of the school choir.

The Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan, accorded a heartfelt welcome to the guests and acknowledged the remarkable achievements and efforts of the students in scholastic domain amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

The Principal also praised the collaborative spirit of the management, staff, students and parents that empowered the school towards quality education during the pandemic.

The Annual Report was presented by the students of Cambridge School, Noida, chronicling the institution’s achievements during the academic session 2020-21. It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the meritorious results of the students of class X and XII in board examination.

The Annual Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school. The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas for the session 2019-2020 and 2020-21.

The highlight of the event was the Indian Classical Kathak dance (based on raga jog in Teental) and the Ballet dance performance by the young performers of Cambridge School.

This year’s Annual Function proved to be an astounding visual treat that enthralled every spectator connected virtually to the show.

ASSET Exam was conducted for the students of classes III-VIII from 1 –3 August 2023.

CSN MUN

The tenth edition of CSNMUN 23-24 was held on July 27 and 28, 2023 at Cambridge School, Noida. 300 delegates from sixteen schools across Delhi-NCR actively participated in the conference spread over two days. Keeping in mind the current global concerns, students participated in six committees with riveting agendas such as – Deliberation on the Political Instability and Arms Conflict within the Horn of Africa for the United Nations General Assembly, Oversight on Civil Unrest after The Global Energy Crisis with Special Emphasis on the increasing violence within Haiti for United Nations Security Council, Addressing the Human Rights concerns in Asian countries with emphasis on Child Labour and Human Trafficking of Indigenous people for United Nations Human Rights Council etc. It was an enriching and successful event.

THEATRE IN EDUCATION

Theatre in Education was held on July 25, 2023, at Cambridge School, Noida. The topic was ‘The Indian Constitution’. The programme was organised by the students of class VIII. The theatre aimed at highlighting the process, the need and the journey of making the Constitution. The Theatre involved speeches of eminent personalities like Dr BR Ambedkar, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Hasna Mehta and others. It also highlighted the plights of different sections of society and how their needs were met by the Constitution.

The theatre highlighted the Fundamental Rights through the Republic Day parade and therefore also stressed how far India has come. A beautiful dance performance was presented depicting various scenarios that challenged the Indian Union and how the constitution helped to get through. The Preamble was presented through a soulful choir performance.

 

SCHOLAR FELICITATION CEREMONY OF CLASS X (SESSION 2022-2023)

To unveil the journey of unparalleled resilience and academic achievements of the scholars, the Scholar Felicitation Ceremony for Class X was organised on July 21, 2023, in Cambridge School, Noida. The students who scored 100 % in one or two subjects as well as 91% and above in boards were awarded with the scholar certificate. The ceremony started with the school prayer and a motivational song by the school choir.

ENVIROFEST

The annual plantation drive is organized every year in July. This year Cambridge School, Noida celebrated the Annual Envirofest on July 18, 2023, with great enthusiasm. A lot of activities on the theme ‘Environment’ were conducted. The celebration started with the plantation drive followed by inter-section activities like animal mask-making, T–shirt painting etc.,

Students showed a lot of vim and vigour. Various perennial flowering plants such as China rose (Hibiscus), Oleander, Thecoma, Rose, Jasmine, Frangipani(Champa), Indian elm(papri), Jamun, Bamboo, etc were planted. The other activities conducted aimed to spread awareness as well as to inculcate the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in our lives to attain a sustainable future. 

FELICITATION CEREMONY 

On July 11, 2023, Cambridge School Noida held a felicitation ceremony for the school CBSE Board toppers of Class XII, in the Roma Deb Auditorium to celebrate the achievements and milestones reached by the students. The ceremony was attended by students of classes XI and XII and the parents of the felicitated students. The meritorious achievers were appreciated and applauded, by the compere Ms. Bharti Sharma. This was followed by the auspicious Lighting of the Lamp. The choir presented the school song in their mellifluous voices. All the toppers were acknowledged with merit certificates and mementoes by the Director Mr. Vikram Roy, Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi and Mr. Sushil Kabra.

Following this, the Professor, Dr.Suman Kapur memorial awards were presented to the achievers as a tribute to Dr.Kapur’s remarkable leadership and intellectual prowess. Dr. Suman Kapur, a distinguished Cambridge School, Srinivas Puri alumna, was a prominent figure in the realm of science. Alongside Dr. Vikram Roy and Dr. Suman Kapur’s brother, Mr. Sushil Kabra distributed the monetary prizes and letters of appreciation to the exemplary students from both Cambridge Noida and Cambridge Srinivas Puri. The students who were honoured were as follows: Arjun Sammi with 99.2%. The stream toppers were Arjun Sammi for Science (99.2%), Swati Madhu Sudanan for Humanities (97%), and Mahika Nautiyal for Commerce (96.6%). There was a total of 10 students with a perfect 100 score and the average percentage of the school was 82.6%. There were an overall of 652 distinctions.

G-20 POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

Cambridge School, Noida participated in the G-20 Poster Making Competition on May 12, 2023. Students from classes VI- VIII were selected. Approximately 80 students took part in this competition. The competition was coordinated by Mr. Bappi Singha and was assisted by Ms. Prachi Sahasrabudhe. The event focussed on two important goals of G-20, India 2023. They are- i) Green Development, Climate Finance and Life ii) Women-led Development. It was an exposure for the young creative minds. The children were enthusiastic.

RABINDRA JAYANTI

On May 9, 2023, Cambridge School, Noida celebrated Rabindra Jayanti to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Kabiguru, Rabindranath Tagore. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Officiating Principal Ms. Preeti Sirohi, Headmistress Ms. Richa Badola and teachers amidst the chanting of the hymn ‘Sangachhadyam’. This was followed by a brief insight into the life of Tagore as a poet, musician, philosopher, and social reformer. Next, the audience was treated to an enchanting dance performance of the popular song “Anondo Loke,” followed by a plethora of dances, recitations, enactments of poems from the Gitanjali, as well as melodious renditions of Tagore’s songs by the students. Last but not the least the students of Primary school mesmerised the audience with a melodious song.

SPIC MACAY

Cambridge School, Noida, under the aegis of SPICMACAY, hosted a repertoire of Indian Classical Music by the renowned sitar maestro Pandit Shubhendra Rao, on April 25, 2023, in the Roma Deb Auditorium.  Pandit Shubhendra Rao is a composer and sitar player, ranked amongst the top soloists of India, whose music is “an experience that is not aimed to titillate the senses, but to seize the soul”.

Pandit Shubhendra Rao was accompanied by the renowned percussionist, tabla maestro Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra one of the top-ranking exponents of tabla in India currently.

During the performance, Pandit Shubhendra Rao brought to the fore the depth and beauty of his renditions through his enchanting and dextrous command of his musical instrument the sitar.  His unique style of being able to connect and build rapport with the audience made the invigorating session a grand success.

SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY

A scholar badge ceremony was organized by Cambridge School, Noida on April 28, 2023, for classes VII to IX in the school auditorium to encourage and appreciate academic endeavours by the students.

The power-packed session commenced with an assembly conducted by the students of class VIII to X. The achievers were applauded and cheered by everyone present in the ceremony. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi congratulated the scholar badge winners and motivated the children to perform their best in the upcoming sessions.

All staff members encouraged and motivated the students to learn and deliver better.

 

INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

Cambridge School Noida celebrated International Dance Day on April 28, 2023. The celebration began with a Ganesh Vandana followed by folk dances from different parts of India. It was indeed a visual treat for the audience to watch our graceful dancers showcasing classical and folk dances of India and enlightened them about our rich cultural heritage from the shores of the Arabian Sea in the west to the shores of the Bay of Bengal in the east and the serene vales of Assam. Children took great delight in expressing themselves in dances like Bihu, Koli etc. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi and Headmistress, Ms. Richa encouraged the performers with their presence. The programme came to an end with a message that dance is the expression of our mind, heart and soul and can be celebrated every day.

 LIBRARY ACTIVITY

Mr. Milind, the school Librarian, organised an activity known as “Know your Library” for the new batch of class VI students throughout the week between April 2226, students were informed about the library rules and different genres of books in the school library. Mr. Milind was also informed about the classics and braille books available in the school library.

 

SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES

WORLD HERITAGE DAY

A special assembly was organised by Class IX B on April 18, 2023, on World Heritage Day. A brief introduction to various aspects of heritage was followed by a soulful prayer, the thought of the day and the news. The choir students performed a melodious song. Students presented a documentary on the importance of preserving the world and national heritage which was accompanied by kathak dance form. The students also performed a skit showing the potential threats to heritage and ways to protect it. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi not only appreciated the students for their efforts but also encouraged them.

EID -UL- FITR

A special assembly was held by class VIII A on April 21, 2023 on Eid-ul-Fitr. The assembly commenced with school prayer to invoke the blessings of the almighty followed by a melodious choir presentation. This was followed by the thought for the day and the news. The children recited a soulful poem and performed a skit. To further enliven the atmosphere children presented a beautiful classical dance. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

 

WORLD DAY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK 

A special assembly was organised by the students of class IX F on the topic of World Day for Health and Safety at Work. A brief introduction on the importance of this day was followed by the school prayer, the thought for the day and news. The children recited a poem on understanding the value of good health in their lives. Students also presented some facts related to World Health Day. They further sensitized the audience on the safety measures to be followed during natural disasters through a skit. This was followed by a tuneful song ‘Heal the World’. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi appreciated the students for their tireless efforts. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

CLASS:6 TO 8

Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th January to commemorate the date and moment, when the constitution of INDIA came into effect. With the same cause it is celebrated as the national festival in our school. A day earlier our school organised a virtual republic day celebration. Lots of activities were organised for classes 6 to 8 for different subjects. In Hindi subject we have organised Kavita vaachan activity for students. Even in this pandemic situation we have seen a lot of enthusiasm and patriotism by students. They all had giving best out of them. Quite impress by their poem and the way they were excited for the activities. Students were seemed proud to be an Indian.

IMAGE – Le mélange de, was held on 25th, 27th and 28th January, at Cambridge School, Noida. The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Honorable Chief Guest, Padma Shri, Ms. Sooni Taraporevala, Screenwriter, Photographer and Film Maker. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, Society for Advancement of Education along with other members of the school management committee were present on this occasion.

33 schools of Delhi, NRC and neighboring cities participated enthusiastically in this event. Various events like A.C. Deb Debate, Shloka Chanting, Hindi Declamation, Story Toons, Create Your Vlog, Ekallap, RJ Star, Art, Dance and Music competitions were the highlights of this event. The Rolling Trophy for IMAGE 2021 was bagged by Somerville School, Noida.

ANNUAL DAY (VI-VIII)

Honoring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, Cambridge School, Noida organised Annual Day along with Prize Distribution Ceremony for session 2021-22 with great zeal and on 30th December,2022 for the students of classes VI- VIII. The occasion was graced by the presence of the hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr.Balram Bhargava, Secretary, Department of Health Research and Director General ICMR. In addition, many dignitaries and the distinguished members of the management committee also graced the event.

The programme was commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp amidst a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the school song by the students of the school choir.

The Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan, accorded a heartfelt welcome to the guests and acknowledged the remarkable achievements and efforts of the students in scholastic domain amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

The Principal also praised the collaborative spirit of the management, staff, students and parents that empowered the school towards quality education during the pandemic.

The Annual Report was presented by the students of Cambridge School, Noida, chronicling the institution’s achievements during the academic session 2020-21. It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the meritorious results of the students of class X and XII in board examination.

The Annual Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school. The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas for the session 2019-2020 and 2020-21.

The highlight of the event was the Indian Classical Kathak dance (based on raga jog in Teental) and the Ballet dance performance by the young performers of Cambridge School.

This year’s Annual Function proved to be an astounding visual treat that enthralled every spectator connected virtually to the show.

MALALA DAY- VIII C

A special assembly was organized by Class VIII-C on 2 August 2023 on Malala Day. A brief introduction on the importance of education and equal rights was followed by a soulful prayer, thought of the day and news. The school choir performed a melodious song on the need for education in society followed by a skit on the life and works of Malala Yousufzai. To further enliven the atmosphere students presented a beautiful classical dance on the theme of gender empowerment. The assembly concluded with a speech by the Officiating Principal Ms. Preeti Sirohi who discussed how every citizen can contribute towards building a just society by promoting education and equal rights for all.

 

WORLD BIO-FUEL DAY- VIII E

 A special assembly was organized by Class VIII-E on 9 August 2023 on World Bio-Fuel Day. A brief introduction to non-conventional source of energy and their invention. The students stressed the importance of Biofuel. To further enliven the atmosphere, students presented a classical dance- Kathak on the theme of environment. Then a skit was presented by the students on the need of bio fuel followed by a melodious song presented by the school choir.

The assembly concluded with a speech by the Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi who discussed how every citizen can contribute towards building a pollution-free world.

 

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER- VIII F

On 21 August 2023, a special assembly on the theme of Knowledge is power; was conducted by the students of class VIII F. Through enchanting musical performance, dance and powerful speeches, students enlightened the audience about the power of knowledge. The assembly culminated with a beautiful skit based on the theme.

 

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY- VII F

Class VII F conducted a special assembly on National Sports Day on 23 August 2023. The assembly focused on the spirit of sports and its teaching with an emphasis on Major Dhyan Chand. The assembly was celebrated through a dance performance on Chak de India, a musical representation of different sports played in India and a choir singing the song Courage to Change alongside quotes, news and information about the day. The assembly culminated with closing remarks of the Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi, emphasizing the need for sports and praising the students for their efforts.

 

RAKSHABANDHAN- IX E

On 29 August 2023, a special assembly on Raksha Bandhan was conducted by class IX-E. The assembly was attended by the class teachers and students of all the sections of class IX, coordinators of IX and X, and Mr. Gunjan. The major highlight of the assembly was a skit and dance reflecting the bond between a sister and a brother.

 

BOOK EXHIBITION

A book exhibition on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day was organized for the students and staff members from 14- 16 August 2023 in the school library. The theme of the exhibition was – Freedom Fighters.

 

LIBRARY ACTIVITY

To inculcate reading habits and strengthen writing skills, Librarian Mr. Milind Kumar Gautam, organised Library activities for the students of class VI-VIII. Various activities like a Quiz on Harry Potter, a Puzzle on famous British Authors and a character sketch of a favourite character took place from 10 August to 22 August 2023 during library periods. Students took great interest in all the activities and requested to have more such fun activities in future.

 

EDUFAIR

The Psychology Department of Cambridge, Noida organized Edufair- An Annual event of career counselling and university fair on 18 August 2023. The event was attended by students of classes IX to XII. Students and teachers from Cambridge’s sister schools also participated. Renowned Career Counselor, Mr Jitin Chawla addressed the students in two informative sessions—one for Classes IX and X, and another for all sections of classes XI-XII.

Students of all classes and schools got the opportunity to visit and interact with an array of booths and stalls set up by some renowned National and International universities like Pearl Academy, IIHM, O.P Jindal Global, Ashoka, University of London, to name a few. Students participated in the Edufair with keen interest.

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Cambridge School, Noida celebrated the 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023. The program started with the flag hoisting by Ms. Preeti Sirohi, The Officiating Principal; Ms.Richa Badola, Headmistress and other guests. The ceremony was followed by the school band playing patriotic tunes which instilled a feeling of patriotism amongst the audience. A cultural program was put up by the students where they showcased and depicted their patriotism for the country through dance, music, poem recitation and enactment. The program concluded with the closing remarks by Ms. Preeti Sirohi, wherein she shared her belief that patriotism is a small act which should be a part of our daily life

 

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

On 4 August 2023, Cambridge School, Noida hosted an investiture ceremony to felicitate the newly elected student council. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, AVSM, VSM, Director General of Naval Operations and the Director General of Project Seabird, Indian Navy.

The newly elected members were bestowed upon with their prefectural badges by the Chief Guest, as they stepped into leadership roles. Ms. Preeti Sirohi, the Officiating Principal, congratulated the student council and reminded them that with responsibility comes accountability and that they must lead by personal example.

It was followed by the Chief Guest’s address, inspiring the students to develop character and ethical leadership values.

Mr. Vikram Roy, President, of SAE, encouraged the students to be passionate about their choices for making a difference. He also added that excellence can never be a choice but a chance to determine their destiny.

 

ASSET EXAMINATION

ASSET Stands for Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing. It is Asia’s largest skill-based diagnostic and benchmarking test. Rather than testing rote learning, it uses multiple-choice questions to focus on measuring how well SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying the school syllabus have been understood by the student. ASSET Exam was conducted for the students of classes III-VIII from 1 –3 August 2023.

Pandit Shubhendra Rao was accompanied by the renowned percussionist, tabla maestro Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra one of the top-ranking exponents of tabla in India currently.

During the performance, Pandit Shubhendra Rao brought to the fore the depth and beauty of his renditions through his enchanting and dextrous command of his musical instrument the sitar.  His unique style of being able to connect and build rapport with the audience made the invigorating session a grand success.

SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY

A scholar badge ceremony was organized by Cambridge School, Noida on April 28, 2023, for classes VII to IX in the school auditorium to encourage and appreciate academic endeavours by the students.

The power-packed session commenced with an assembly conducted by the students of class VIII to X. The achievers were applauded and cheered by everyone present in the ceremony. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi congratulated the scholar badge winners and motivated the children to perform their best in the upcoming sessions.

All staff members encouraged and motivated the students to learn and deliver better.

 

INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

Cambridge School Noida celebrated International Dance Day on April 28, 2023. The celebration began with a Ganesh Vandana followed by folk dances from different parts of India. It was indeed a visual treat for the audience to watch our graceful dancers showcasing classical and folk dances of India and enlightened them about our rich cultural heritage from the shores of the Arabian Sea in the west to the shores of the Bay of Bengal in the east and the serene vales of Assam. Children took great delight in expressing themselves in dances like Bihu, Koli etc. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi and Headmistress, Ms. Richa encouraged the performers with their presence. The programme came to an end with a message that dance is the expression of our mind, heart and soul and can be celebrated every day.

 LIBRARY ACTIVITY

Mr. Milind, the school Librarian, organised an activity known as “Know your Library” for the new batch of class VI students throughout the week between April 2226, students were informed about the library rules and different genres of books in the school library. Mr. Milind was also informed about the classics and braille books available in the school library.

 

SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES

WORLD HERITAGE DAY

A special assembly was organised by Class IX B on April 18, 2023, on World Heritage Day. A brief introduction to various aspects of heritage was followed by a soulful prayer, the thought of the day and the news. The choir students performed a melodious song. Students presented a documentary on the importance of preserving the world and national heritage which was accompanied by kathak dance form. The students also performed a skit showing the potential threats to heritage and ways to protect it. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi not only appreciated the students for their efforts but also encouraged them.

EID -UL- FITR

A special assembly was held by class VIII A on April 21, 2023 on Eid-ul-Fitr. The assembly commenced with school prayer to invoke the blessings of the almighty followed by a melodious choir presentation. This was followed by the thought for the day and the news. The children recited a soulful poem and performed a skit. To further enliven the atmosphere children presented a beautiful classical dance. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

 

WORLD DAY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK 

A special assembly was organised by the students of class IX F on the topic of World Day for Health and Safety at Work. A brief introduction on the importance of this day was followed by the school prayer, the thought for the day and news. The children recited a poem on understanding the value of good health in their lives. Students also presented some facts related to World Health Day. They further sensitized the audience on the safety measures to be followed during natural disasters through a skit. This was followed by a tuneful song ‘Heal the World’. The Officiating Principal, Ms. Preeti Sirohi appreciated the students for their tireless efforts. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

CLASS:6 TO 8

Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th January to commemorate the date and moment, when the constitution of INDIA came into effect. With the same cause it is celebrated as the national festival in our school. A day earlier our school organised a virtual republic day celebration. Lots of activities were organised for classes 6 to 8 for different subjects. In Hindi subject we have organised Kavita vaachan activity for students. Even in this pandemic situation we have seen a lot of enthusiasm and patriotism by students. They all had giving best out of them. Quite impress by their poem and the way they were excited for the activities. Students were seemed proud to be an Indian.

IMAGE 2021

IMAGE – Le mélange de, was held on 25th, 27th and 28th January, at Cambridge School, Noida. The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Honorable Chief Guest, Padma Shri, Ms. Sooni Taraporevala, Screenwriter, Photographer and Film Maker. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, Society for Advancement of Education along with other members of the school management committee were present on this occasion.

33 schools of Delhi, NRC and neighboring cities participated enthusiastically in this event. Various events like A.C. Deb Debate, Shloka Chanting, Hindi Declamation, Story Toons, Create Your Vlog, Ekallap, RJ Star, Art, Dance and Music competitions were the highlights of this event. The Rolling Trophy for IMAGE 2021 was bagged by Somerville School, Noida.

ANNUAL DAY (VI-VIII)

Honoring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, Cambridge School, Noida organised Annual Day along with Prize Distribution Ceremony for session 2021-22 with great zeal and on 30th December,2022 for the students of classes VI- VIII. The occasion was graced by the presence of the hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr.Balram Bhargava, Secretary, Department of Health Research and Director General ICMR. In addition, many dignitaries and the distinguished members of the management committee also graced the event.

The programme was commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp amidst a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the school song by the students of the school choir.

The Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan, accorded a heartfelt welcome to the guests and acknowledged the remarkable achievements and efforts of the students in scholastic domain amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

The Principal also praised the collaborative spirit of the management, staff, students and parents that empowered the school towards quality education during the pandemic.

The Annual Report was presented by the students of Cambridge School, Noida, chronicling the institution’s achievements during the academic session 2020-21. It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the meritorious results of the students of class X and XII in board examination.

The Annual Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school. The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas for the session 2019-2020 and 2020-21.

The highlight of the event was the Indian Classical Kathak dance (based on raga jog in Teental) and the Ballet dance performance by the young performers of Cambridge School.

This year’s Annual Function proved to be an astounding visual treat that enthralled every spectator connected virtually to the show.

EDUFAIR 2021

The aim of career counselling is to nudge students in the right direction. Its motive is to assist behaviour change, enhance coping skills, promote decision making and ultimately make one reach and unlock their full potential. Cambridge School, Noida organized Edufair- a mega event on career counselling, on 22nd December 2021. The event was an amalgamation of various activities which were attended by students of classes X, XI and XII and students and teachers from other Cambridge schools and a few neighbouring schools of Noida.

The day commenced with the comperes extending a special welcome to the guest speakers- Mr Jitin Chawla, a renowned educationist and career counsellor, and Ms. Shayanti Arora- the designation manager, IDP Education. Mr. Chawla commenced his address with a rather amusing ice-breaker round and had everyone’s attention for his two mesmerising sessions—one for Classes XI and XII and another for all sections of class X. He threw light on international education and enlightened the audience about the various facets which come into play while studying abroad. Mr. Chawla gave deep and valuable insights into the educational structure of countries like France, Germany, Finland and the Netherlands. He talked about a plethora of courses and universities- domestic as well as abroad pertaining to all subjects and fields. He urged students to involve themselves in calibre-inducing activities like sports, art, music, writing, research papers, social work, gaming etc. He apprised the students of unconventional but high-paying professions like wine-tasting/wine-making, gaming, leisure travel and sustainability. This was followed by a question and answer round wherein Mr Chawla catered to the queries of the students.

Ms. Shayanti Arora addressed the gathering and gave valuable inputs regarding international education offered in countries like Ireland, the UK, the USA, New Zealand and Australia. The talks delivered by both the speakers were informative, thought-provoking and enthralling at the same time.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10th October to raise awareness about mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. This year’s world mental health day comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic especially for school students and staff as they navigated online classes, personal and family’s health concerns, and a global crisis, all at one time. As a result of this, their psychological, emotional and physical health have taken a toll which in turn have impacted their daily lives at school and home.

At Cambridge School Noida, the Psychology Department organised the following events for students and teachers to focus on their mental health:

Wednesday, 6th October 2021: An interactive circle time for classes 6th to 8th of Class Teachers and students to connect with their students and offer a supportive space to talk about mental health

Friday, 8th October 2021: A poster making activity in zero period on Friday, 8th October for class 6th wherein the students artistically represented on topic “Self Care for better mental health”.

Friday, 8th October 2021: A session by Mr. Ashish Garg of Pratham Institutes on Time Management for students of class 10th and 12th who will be giving their pre-boards and boards examination

Tuesday, 12th October 2021: Dance Movement Therapy workshop for teachers by Ms. Tripura Kashyap focussing on their mental well-being

Ballet Presentation

On 4th September’21, the ADM Department of Cambridge School, Noida, Indirapuram, New Friends Colony, Srinivaspuri and Greater Noida presented a ballet and musical concert at Cambridge School, Indirapuram campus.

The ballet production was based on O’Henry’s short story, “The Last Leaf”.

Dr Roy, Secretary, SAE and Manager, Cambridge School, Noida, Ms Hardeep Kaur, Principal, Cambridge School, Indirapuram, Ms Isha Sood, Vice Principal, Cambridge School, Indirapuram, Ms. Bindu Gupta and teachers of Cambridge School, Noida, Greater Noida, New Friends Colony and Srinivaspuri graced the occasion.

The teachers performed a couple of songs, an Odissi Dance Recital and a Ballet Production, which were all appreciated by the audience.

Independence Day Celebrations

REPORT ON GOONJ VISIT

Cambridge School, Noida celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour on 15th August 2021. The Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan unfurled the tricolour and all present sang in unison the National Anthem with pride and expressed the joy of our freedom. The programme began with a stirring speech by the Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan followed by a short cultural programme which included an inspiring speech by the Head Girl Chahat Bhanot, patriotic songs and contemporary Indian dance by the students. The highlight of the day was the various sports competitions conducted for the children of classes IX-XII which included a 100-metre race, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis and Yoga.

A captivating video of the online celebrations was broadcast through MS Teams for the students and through Facebook for parents. This year the online event included speeches by the Head Boy Garv Kakkar and Head Girl Chahat Bhanot, songs and dances by senior and junior wing students and an interesting and very motivating interaction of the students with Group Captain Anupam Banerjee, Vishisht Sewa Medal who is a veteran officer and had participated in Operation Vijay, Kargil 1999.

Panel Discussion, Class- IX

On 13/8/21 Friday, on the eve of Independence day, an Online Panel Discussion Competition was organised for class IX. The topic of the discussion was ‘How can we prevent the next pandemic?’ The names of the participants are – Md. Ayan, Stavya Tripathi (9A), G Shree Lakshmi, Saanvi Nayan (9B), Disha Pandey, Radhika Swarnkar (9C), Parul Arora, Tanya Jha (9D) and Tulika Gupta, Kakul Bhardwaj (9E). The competition was judged by two teacher-moderators Ms Supriya Gupta and Ms Nitu Dixit. The participants presented their views through PPT presentations and very confidently suggested measures to prevent the next pandemic like- Educating the masses about the pandemic and safety precautions, relying on genuine information and avoiding fake news, governments should increase investment in healthcare etc. Kakul Bhardwaj (9E) secured the First position, Parul Arora (9D) secured the Second position, Saanvi Nayan (9B) & Tulika Gupta (9E) shared the Third position.

INTER-SECTION FOLK DANCE AND MUSIC COMPETITION

As a part of Independence Day Activities ADM Dept. had planned for the children of classes VI to VIII an Inter-section Dance and Music Competition online on 12th and 13th August 2021 during the Zero Period. From each class 145 to 150 students attended. The event was graced by The Principal and Vice-Principal of the School along with class teachers and ADM teachers. External judges selected the prize winners in various competitions as listed below:

Panel Discussion, Class- IX

On Friday, 13th August 2021 Final round of the Panel discussion was held amongst the students of Class 11 on the topic Sustainability practices require grass-root level initiatives. The Participants raised a wide range of issues like Zero hunger , Quality education , Gender equality , Climate change etc. with the help of well oriented Power point presentations. Also The judges Mrs Arpita Paul and Mrs Kirti Sasan asked some insightful questions about the topic in the discussion.

WEBINAR

A webinar was conducted by 12 A and 12 B students on the occasion of celebration of Independence Day organised on August 13, 2021. The participants were Ridhima Gupta (12A), Anushka Tripathi (12B), Riya Verma (12B) and Hariom Mishra (12A).

The topic was “Thirty Years of Economic Reforms in Financial Sector (1991 onwards). The students participated wonderfully which showed extensive research on the topic. The PPT was made by Hariom Mishra and the webinar was successfully conducted.

SOLAR FEST

A Solar Fest was organized on the occasion of Independence Week, 2021, under the theme, “Ideas Transforming India”, at Cambridge School, Noida on August 11, 2021 . The venue was the ATL Tinkering Lab for the students of Cambridge School, Noida and the Micro-Electronics Lab for the under privileged children. Around 40 students of Classes VI-XI, participated in the Solar Lamp making Activity which was a part of the programme. The children were given the kits using which they created the lamps which lit using the energy of the sun. Dr. Jasleen Batti, Deputy Programme Manager, Climate Change and Energy Programme from Centre for Science and Environment graced the occasion. Mr. Vikram Roy, honourable member of the school management motivated the children with his gracious presence. The Principal , Ms. Preeti Sangwan, The students of Cambridge School, Noida donated the Solar Lamp created by them for a social cause. The participating students went back feeling enriched after the programme.
