Mr. Alok Chandra Deb was the founder of the Cambridge Schools. He worked as a
teacher at Dehradun with Col Brown’s School and the Gurkha Military Academy. He
founded the first Cambridge School on the 7th of April, 1931 in a small flat in Qutub Road,

schools in the city. Cambridge School Delhi (thus named because it was the first school
to send students up for the senior Cambridge examination) acquired its own campus in

Classes I to V – In keeping with the NEP 2020, the new scheme of assessments being adopted by the Cambridge Schools moves towards shorter tests, based on smaller chunks of the syllabus. After a concept has been taught in class, children are given many opportunities to demonstrate their understanding. These assessments emphasise the application of knowledge and concepts learnt as well as the essential skills of different subjects. The idea is to minimise rote learning. The assessment for all subject areas is in four learning cycles every year. Parents receive a short report on each learning cycle.

Our request to parents is to not stress about the assessments, which will occur soon after every concept/ chapter is completed. Children are expected to be regular with their classwork and homework and are encouraged to ask their teachers if they have difficulties.

A uniform system of assessment and examination is for classes VI to XII. Our schools follow the CBSE prescribed syllabus for Secondary and Senior Secondary classes.

The School Management Committee (SMC) of the school meets frequently, where issues concerning the school are discussed and deliberated.

The prime focus of our campus security is complete perimeter sanitisation. Strict control on entry is a key to safety and the school ensures that parents, vehicles, vendors and service providers use separate manned gates. Round-the-Clock security of the campus is ensured through our strategically located CCTV cameras which are monitored continuously. The Transport vehicles provided by the school are equipped with a Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) and on-board cameras. Each bus is accompanied by a Teacher on a rotational basis and a female care giver/guard to pick up and drop children safely from their designated bus stops. Parents/Guardians are expected to carry the Escort Card at all times during the pick-up and drop. We also have a POCSO Committee set up in our schools.

While  the  protocols  evolve/change  based  on  government  directives,  all  COVID-19 precautionary measures as per directions/advisories issued by Central & State Governing authorities are in place at the school. In addition to the regular housekeeping through professional agencies and permitted cleaning agents, we have focused on stringent sanitization protocols. All our staff members are fully vaccinated. The School Safety Committee reviews the preparedness of the school at regular intervals.

Professional development of staff is an intrinsic and ongoing process which is conducted throughout the year. The school staff undergoes continual training to effectively teach the curriculum they have been assigned. They also attend the mandatory CBSE workshops on a regular basis.
